The Royal Winnipeg Ballet is a captivating organization focused on enriching the experience of both the dancers and the audience. They entertain not only in Winnipeg, but also throughout Canada and across the globe.

Presenting more than 100 performances every single year, the RWB works hard to keep its many audiences delighted. And delighted those audiences are! The company was founded in 1939 and has the honour of being the most famous ballet company in the country, noted for its gifted dancers.

Going on tour is an integral part of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s success to showcasing the talent and skill of the dancers. In fact, the company travels approximately 20 weeks (and sometimes more!) each year. Fundraising trips are a common occurrence, making the RWB one of the most seasoned touring ballet companies in the entire world.

Preschoolers to adults enjoy the wonders of dance at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet

With programs aimed at various age and gender groups, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet seeks to accommodate everyone who is interested in learning the art of ballet. Recreational and professional dancers are both invited and welcomed into the ballet company.

Few can resist the artistic brilliance of ballet, and the programming available at the RWB is designed for professional career training and extracurricular activity alike. Summer programs are particularly sought after.

Students come to Winnipeg from far and wide to take dance lessons with the prestigious Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Many of these students enjoy their time in downtown Winnipeg, where the organization is located, and those of high school age often attend the University of Winnipeg Collegiate – a high school situated mere minutes from the doors of the RWB. This allows the international students to keep up with their academic studies even as they concentrate on their dancing careers.

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet facility boasts 10 dance studios and keeps its dancers in good condition with a physiotherapy room. All administrative offices can also be found at this location – including the box office, if you are so inclined to purchase tickets to check out a show or two the next time you are in downtown Winnipeg.
