Winnipeg Real Estate MLS® stats for September 2010

Hi everyone:

Winnipeg REALTORS® have just issued their monthly Press Release for sales and listing statistics for the Winnipeg Real Estate market in September 2010.

After a slower summer, buyers came back into the Winnipeg Real Estate Market for September 2010, making this month the highest September on record for sales volume and dollar volume

MLS® sales were at 1,142 units sold, and dollar volume of $249 million both set records. Listings are also up, with 16,481 listings entered this year, which is a 13% increase over the previous year.

The most active segments of the housing market remain the price ranges of $200K to $250K which represented 23% of all sales. Next was the $150K to $200K, which saw 19% of all sales. Average days on market for homes was set at 29 days, one day faster than Sept 2009.

Condo sales also quickened, with average days on market dropping to 33 days. 25% of all condos sold were in the $100K to $150K range, and 32% were between $150K and $200K.

These are figures compiled by Winnipeg REALTORS®, and released monthly. They represent sales in the Winnipeg Real Estate Region which includes the city of Winnipeg and most of south-east Manitoba.  For a video look at Winnipeg Real Estate market stats, check out the video at the top right of this post.

While reports such as this are interesting and helpful in a general sense, an accurate, personal and realistic home evaluation is required before anyone puts their house or condo onto the Winnipeg Real Estate market.
