Luxury Condos in Winnipeg:  An overview and examples

Hi everyone:

If you’re interested in luxury condos, now may be an excellent time to make a move towards one.  Right now, there are 50 Luxury Condos available in our fair city.  For the purposes of this post, I’ve chosen the price of a minimum of $350,000 to qualify as luxury condos.

What sets Luxury Condos apart?

A couple of things make these more expensive:  Quality of Construction, Neighbourhood, View and amenities.  These luxury condos are usually high-rise, concrete construction, making them fairly sound proof.  Quite often they are located in nice neighbourhoods, such as along Wellington Cr, and offer views of the city or the river.  Amenities usually include underground parking, nicer lobbies, common meeting rooms, and possibly even door personnel or security staff.

A great example of luxury condos can be found here at the Edgewater Condominiums. This 1260 sq ft unit features all concrete construction, high ceilings, 2 BR and 2 FULL Baths, plus as BONUS: 2 heated underground parking stalls.  The south-west facing balcony offers views of both “the crescent’ as well as the river.  The relatively low condo fee of $400 includes caretaker services, security staff at the front desk, both parking spots, water, building insurance, and contributions to the reserve fund.  All this in a fairly newly constructed (2008) building.

While this suite offers the best value in this outstanding building, it is by no means the only choice.  Currently there are 7 suites available, ranging in size from 1260 sq ft up to 1755 sq ft, and prices all the way up to $699,000.
